Leo Durocher was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994. Durocher was a baseball lifer, playing almost 20 seasons as a player and managing for almost another 30. Durocher won four World Series championships (two as a player, two as a manager) and was a three-time All-Star. In the rear collar of this road zippered flannel jersey is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag with an attached flag tag reading the size “42”. Adjacent below is a strip tag that reads the manager name “Durocher” embroidered in script style writing. On the front left tail a rare variation and location of the year “1946” is embroidered in red. The zipper down the front is fully functional. Across the chest reads “Dodgers” in script style writing and across the back is the manager number “2”. All numbering and lettering is original and is done in blue felt. On the front and rear tails is the “Babe Ruth fat strap”, four reinforced holes to help keep the jersey in place. In the rear waistband of the pants is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag with an attached strip tag reading the size “38”. The number “9” is handwritten adjacent to this tag in faded black marker. On the inside of the button path is a strip tag reading the year “49” embroidered in black that is starting to come apart. There is team piping down both of the legs. This uniform is properly tagged and was presented to us as manager worn. This jersey was sourced from an electrician who went to Ebbets Field and received the jersey after the season.
