Hall of Famer Bill Mazeroski was a coach for the Seattle Mariners in both 1979 and 1980. He wore uniform number “30” during the 1979 season and half of the 1980 season until Maury Wills came to manage the club and took his number “30” prompting him to change his number to “9”. On the front right tail is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag size “46” with washing instructions. Attached is a flag tag with “SET 1 1980”. On the left sleeve is the team’s pitchfork “M” on a star logo patch. Across the chest is “Seattle”. The coach’s number “9” appears below and on the back. These are done in blue on yellow tackle twill. The Coach’s name “MAZEROSKI” appears across the back in blue tackle twill. Mazeroski has signed the front of the jersey in black marker adding the inscription “Coach Seattle Mariners” and in our opinion the signature rates a 7. There is evidence of a number change from “30” to “9” due to the fact Mazeroski changed his number when new manager Maury Wills came. In the rear of the pants below the waistband is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag size “38”. Adjacent to the right is a strip tag that reads “38 30 80 26”. The coach’s number “30” on this strip tag has been covered in black marker and the new coach’s number “9” is handwritten above. Attached to this strip tag is a flag tag reading “SET 1 1980”. This uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as coaches worn and shows wear. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
