Casey Stengel's famous "platoon" system was born in 1949 when the "Old Perfessor" began alternating the lefthanded-hitting Woodling and the righty Hank Bauer in rightfield depending on the pitcher. Woodling, a clutch hitter who topped the .300 mark in 1952 and ‘53, hit a home run in each World Series from 1951-53. This Hillerich and Bradsby bat was manufactured for the 1950 World Series. It is a 35", 32 1/4 oz. M110 model bat that is uncracked and mint.
