Andy Carey became the Yankees' regular third sacker in 1954, hitting .302. Carey played for four big league teams and compiled a .260 career average. This Hillerich and Bradsby bat has the labeling period from the early 1950s. It is a 35", 33 oz. C179 model bat that shows great game use with a severe handle crack that has been repaired with nails and tape. There is some deadwood on the rear side of the barrel. The letter "G" is on the knob in green marker and there is an obscure carving on the end of the barrel.
