Franco Harris was a first-round draft choice of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers in 1972, and was named the league's rookie of the year after gaining 1,055 yards on 188 carries, a 5.6 average. He rushed for 10 touchdowns and scored 3 on pass receptions. Harris was involved in one of pro football's most famous plays, the "immaculate reception" in the American Football Conference playoffs after that season. Harris won four Super Bowls with the Steelers and was named Super Bowl MVP in Super Bowl IX. The Sporting News has named one of the top 100 football players of All-Time. Harris was chosen for 9 consecutive Pro Bowls, from 1972 through 1980. Offered in this lot is Harris’ 1980 AFC Pro-Bowl jersey. On the front left tail is the Medalist Sand-Knit manufacturer’s tag size “48” with washing instructions. There is a flag tag that is no longer attached that reads the size“48” and “2” LB” is handwritten. Across the chest reads “AMERICAN”. Adjacent below, on the back, and on both sleeves is the player number “32”. Across the back reads the payer name “HARRIS”. All numbering and lettering is applied with heat pressed vinyl in red. There are alternating red and blue stripes down the sleeves. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as pro-bowl worn and in our opinion shows appropriate use. This jersey originates from a televised charity auction in 1981 on Pittsburgh area stations WQED on which Harris appeared with the jersey.

An image of Mike  Webster’s Pro Bowl jersey where you can see the player name attached directly to the jersey (sans nameplate) has been added to the listing.
