Regarded by many as the best closer in baseball, Mariano Rivera has given the New York Yankees an unfair edge. Rivera is singularly responsible for turning Yankee games into 8 inning games. On the left front tail is the "Russell Athletic" label and below is the size tag "44". Next to this is the year tag "YO". Across the front of the jersey is the name "New York" and on the back is the player number "42". Both the name and the number are made of blue on white tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the "2000 All Star" patch and on the left sleeve is a black armband commemorating the death of Bob Lemon. On the back of the shirt, at the neck, is the Major League Baseball logo patch and below this is an autograph is black marker that rates a 9. The jersey comes with an additional letter of authenticity. This is one of two authentic New York Yankees All-Star jerseys issued to Mariano Rivera for the 2000 All-Star game.
