The 1953-54 NCAA Men’s Basketball season was a controversial one. The Kentucky Wildcats were the top-ranked team in the nation (with a perfect 25–0 record) but ultimately did not participate in any post-season tournament. With several key players having technically graduated the year before when Kentucky was banned from playing a competitive schedule due to the point-shaving scandal a few years earlier. This front of this book reads “1953-54 BASKETBALL BOOK VOL. 4” and contains box scores from all of Kentucky’s games from the season. Also included are numerous newspaper clippings discussing the team throughout the season, player stats, game tickets, and other various box scores including the 1954 Kentucky High School State Tournament and Harlem Globetrotters games. A great piece documenting the national powerhouse Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball program.
