Pete “Pistol” Maravich was the best scorer in college basketball history and his skills translated at the NBA level in a hurry. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and went on to make two All-NBA First Teams in his career. Maravich led the NBA in scoring in 1977 and was named to the NBA 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. Maravich was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987. On the front left tail is the Sand-Knit manufacturer's tag size “44” with washing instructions. Adjacent above is a Sand-Knit tag reading “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the NEW ORLEANS JAZZ”. Across the chest reads “JAZZ”. Adjacent below and on the back is the player number “7”. These are done in purple experimental vinyl which was only used for one season by a handful of teams. Across the back reads the player name “MARAVICH” in purple tackle twill. The sides have been custom tapered which is a documented trait of Maravich gamers also found on the 1977 photo-matched Maravich which was offered in our last sale. In the rear waistband of the shorts is the Sand-Knit manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions and the player number “7” handwritten on it in black marker. Adjacent is a strip tag reading “18”. On the left thigh is a Jazz team logo and there is team piping down the sides and on the trim. This uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a LOA from Photo-Match.com grading the jersey a 9.
