Hall of Famer George "The Iceman" Gervin was a star shooting guard in the ABA, and after the merger the NBA's San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls. He finished with an NBA career average of 26.2 points per game. His first scoring crown in 1978 was one of the most memorable moments in NBA history. Gervin defeated the Denver Nuggets' David Thompson by seven hundredths of a point (27.22 to 27.15). Gervin went on to lead the NBA in scoring average three years in a row from 1978 to 1980 and again in 1982. George Gervin had the most scoring titles of any guard in league history. On the front tail of is the Sand-Knit manufacturer’s tag size “40” with washing instructions. Across the front is "SPURS". Below that and on the back is the player number "44". Across the back is the player name "GERVIN". All numbering and lettering is done in black on grey tackle twill. The player name and number have been applied locally. Gervin signed on the back numbers in silver marker with the added inscription “Ice Man” added and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. The jersey shows tremendous game-use with large sweat stains concentrated on the back. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA, a PSA/DNA LOA and a Basketball Hall of Fame LOA.
