Larry Bird had a Hall of Fame career with the Boston Celtics. It all began for him at Indiana State where he led the Sycamores to the NCAA championship game in 1979. He was matched up for the first of many times against Magic Johnson of the Michigan State Spartans. The Sycamores finished that season 33-1 with Bird winning the USBWA College Player of the Year, Naismith and Wooden awards. After his three seasons at Indiana State, he left as the fifth highest scorer in NCAA history. On the inside button path is the Sand Knit manufacturer’s tag size “44” with washing instructions. The player number “33” has been handwritten on this tag in black marker. Beneath the rear collar is an additional Sand Knit manufacturer's tag that has the player number “33” handwritten on it twice in black marker that is starting to fade. Across the back of the jacket reads “Indiana State” in script style writing done in white on navy blue tackle twill. There is team piping along the trim. This warm-up jacket is properly tagged, was presented to us as player-worn attributed to Larry Bird.
