Gary Carter always had a smile for the cameras and wore it all through 1986, when he came to the Mets after 11 years with the Expos and helped spark the Amazin's championship drive. Arguably the game's top catcher of the 1980s, Carter had 24 homers and 105 RBIs in ‘86 and hit 324 homers in his 19-year career. This Louisville Slugger bat has the labeling period from 1980-83. It is a 35", 34 1/4 oz. P89 model bat that shows nice game use and is uncracked. Carter's number "8" is on the knob in black marker along with "D-H" in pencil. On the barrel of the bat is the notation "Best Wishes, God Bless Always, Keep Smiling Gary Carter" in black marker and it rates a 5.
