It was the year that Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire dueled each other in the race for 61 home runs that wound up with Big Mac clobbering 70 and Smilin' Sammy 66. This is one of Sosa's magical bats from that storied season, and as such a profound memento of an historic season. This Rawlings bat has the labeling period from 1998. It is a 34 ½", 32 oz. 170B model bat that shows great game use and is uncracked. There is an 8" piece missing from the barrel and has Sosa's common taping job on the knob and handle.
