Yvan “Roadrunner” Cournoyer helped the Montreal Canadiens win eight Stanley Cups, using his blazing speed and skill to score 428 goals in his career. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982 and in 2017 was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history. Offered is an approximate 10x16 plaque celebrating Cournoyer’s 400th goal with the actual puck used to score the goal. The plaque features the Montreal Canadiens logo on top and is engraved in french reading “YVAN COURNOYER 400E BUT DANS LA LIGUE NATIONALE DE HOCKEY” and “DATE: 19-2-77 GARDIEN: BERNARD PARENT TEMPS: 12.25 2E PERIODE SANS AIDE”. The vintage puck used to score the goal is affixed towards the bottom. Cournoyer signed the back of the plaque and in our opinion the signature rates a 9. A rare piece detailing one of hockey’s greats scoring achievement. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
