The World Hockey Association operated from 1972-1979. During that time the Dennis A. Murphy award was given to the outstanding defenseman of the year. Offered is the original trophy of the World Hockey Association. The 18x6 trophy is a full bronze defenseman glove and the front plate reads “The Outstanding Defenseman Trophy presented to Dennis A. Murphy in whose name this award is made annually WORLD HOCKEY ASSOCIATION”. Accompanied by a LOA from Murphy and a vintage photo of him with the trophy.
