Mike Schmidt was a twelve time All-Star, ten time Gold Glove Award winner, World Series Champion and won the NL MVP three times including 1986. During the ‘86 campaign, Schmidt hit 37 home runs, drove in 119 RBI’s while winning the Gold Glove Award at third base. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1995. On the left front tail is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and an attached size “44” flag tag. Below is a strip tag reading “86 1” embroidered in black chain stitching. Inside the rear collar is a strip tag with “Schmidt” embroidered in black script style chain stitching. On the left sleeve is the Phillies team logo patch. On the left chest is the team “P” logo. The player number “20” appears on both the front and back. The player name “SCHMIDT” appears across the back on a white nameplate. All numbering and lettering is done in burgundy tackle twill. The front is a full zipper. Schmidt has signed the front in blue marker adding the inscription “1986” and in our opinion the signature rates a 7. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use with excessive staining. We were told by our consignor that this jersey was originally gifted by Schmidt to Philly Radio Personality Howard Eskin. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
