Known far more for its academics than its athletics, Harvard University Baseball Team has a .622 lifetime winning percentage in its 135 year history. Harvard has been to four College World Series and is the last Ivy League school to qualify (1974). This beautiful presentation bat was given to Charles J. Nevin to recognize him as the best hitter on the Harvard Baseball Club in 1934. The inscribed plaque on the center of the maroon-colored bat reads "Presented by Barrett Wendell, Jr. to Charles J. Nevin `34 for the Most Effective Man at the Bat during the season of 1934 Harvard University Baseball Club". The bat is in near-mint condition. A true piece of Americana.
