This baseball was used during Cal Ripken Jr.’s record breaking 2,131 consecutive game played, breaking the previous record held by Lou Gehrig. The new “Iron Man” fittingly crushed a home run to left field in the 4th inning sending the Baltimore crowd into a frenzy. Rawlings manufactured OAL Budig baseball. Ripken’s name, number and “2130 2131” logo is stamped on the south panel. Ripken signed below this stamp in blue ink and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. All four umpires from that specific game also signed the baseball on the east and west panels. The baseball shows great game use with even toning and scuff marks. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and a LOA from one of the umpires.
