A 12-time All-Star and World Series champion, Wade Boggs is a five-time American League batting champion and has his number retired by two franchises, including the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. A first ballot Hall of Fame inductee in 2005, Boggs reached 3,000 career hits during the 1999 season with the Devil Rays. On the front left tail of the jersey is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag size “48” with washing instructions. Attached are two flag tags reading “100% POLYESTER” and “2” EXTRA LENGTH”. On the left sleeve is a Devil Rays team logo patch and on the right sleeve is a “Russell Athletic” logo embroidered in black. Across the front reads “DEVIL RAYS” in fading from aqua to yellow on purple on white tackle twill, with a Devil Ray logo below. Across the back on a white nameplate is the player name “BOGGS” and below is the player number “12”. These are done in purple on white on black triple tackle twill. Boggs signed the back of the jersey in black marker with the added inscription “3000 Hit Season” and in our opinion the signature rates a 9. In the rear waistband of the pants is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag size “36” with washing instructions. Attached is a flag tag reading “100% POLYESTER -1” WAIST” and adjacent on the other side is a strip tag reading “12 BOGGS 35-36-30-99”. Boggs signed on the back belt loop area in black marker with the added inscription “3000 Hit Season” and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. In the rear sweatband of the cap is the New Era manufacturer’s tag size “7 ¼”. The player number “12” is handwritten in black marker underneath the brim. Boggs signed on the brim in silver marker with the added inscription “3000 Hit Season” and in our opinion the signature rates a 6. This uniform and cap are properly tagged, were presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and a Boggs LOA.
