Left-handed pitcher Bill Lee’s outrageous personality on and off the field earned him the nickname “Spaceman”. In 1975, Lee won 17 regular season games for the Boston Red Sox on the way to winning the AL East. Beneath the rear collar is the McAuliffe manufacturer’s tag with an attached strip tag reading the size “44”. On the front center tail is a strip tag reading the year “1975” and a strip tag with washing instructions. Across the front reads “RED SOX” and across the back is the player number “37”. All numbering and lettering is done in red on navy blue tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows oustanding use with discoloration throughout and excessive wear from possible extended organizational use.
