Affectionately known to the Boston faithful as Dewey, Dwight Evans made his reputation as a strong-armed outfielder who froze baserunners in their tracks and later blossomed into one of the AL's better hitters. Beneath the rear collar is the McAuliffe manufacturer’s tag with an attached strip tag reading the size “44”. On the front center tail is a strip tag reading the year “1976” and a strip tag with washing instructions. Across the front reads “RED SOX” and across the back is the player number “24”. All numbering and lettering is done in red on navy blue tackle twill. Evans signed the front of the jersey in blue marker and in our opinion the signature rates a strong 8. The Tom Yawkey black memorial armband has been removed from the left sleeve with the outline still visible. There is also a team repair on the back of the left sleeve. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
