Larry Hisle played from 1968-82 for three different clubs. He struggled in Philadelphia and was sent to the Minnesota Twins farm system where he toiled till he re-emerged in the majors 1973. Taking advantage of that second chance, Hisle would lead the Twins in RBIs over the next five years and make two trips to the all-star game (`77-78). He came in third on the balloting for AL MVP in 1978, but tore his rotator cuff in 1979 and never regained his all-star form. This 1976 Larry Hisle game-used Louisville Slugger bicentennial bat has been signed by 13 players from the "Big Red Machine" of the mid `70s. Players signatures include: Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Ken Griffey, Sparky Anderson, George Foster, Joe Morgan, Ray Knight (rookie), Doug Flynn, Champ Summers, Dale Murray, Mike Lum, Jack Billingham and Bob Bailey. The signatures are in either blue pen or black marker and range from 6-9. The bat itself is slightly cracked with six carpenter nails in the handle of the bat, showing game-use.
