Don Thompson was a light-hitting outfielder who played sparingly for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1951 to 1954. This home flannel jersey worn by Thompson during the 1954 season is a classic piece of history, tobacco stains and all, dating back to when "Dem Bums" ruled Ebbetts Field. In the neck of the jersey is the "Rawlings" label with the size tag "44" below. On the left front tail are the remnants of his name in blue chain stitch. On the inside lower left is the wash tag and adjacent is the flag tag reading "Set 1 1954." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Dodgers" in script style letters made of blue felt. The player number "29" appears on both the left breast and on the back. The numbers on the front are made of red felt and the numbers on the back are made of blue felt. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
