Kobe Bryant jumped directly from high school to the NBA in 1996 and enjoyed an impressive rookie season with the Lakers. In his second season he was voted a starter for the 1998 All-Star Game, becoming the youngest All-Star in NBA history at 19. On the front left tail is the Champion manufacturer’s tag size "44" with washing instructions. Adjacent to the left is an additional Champion that reads “DESIGNED & TAILORED 96-97 EXCLUSIVELY FOR LOS ANGELES LAKERS BODY LENGTH +4”. On the left inseam is a flag tag with jersey materials and “4” EXTRA BODY LENGTH” is faded. On the upper left chest is the gold "NBA" logo embroidered. Across the chest reads "LAKERS". The player number "8" appears on both the front and back of the jersey. On the back is the player name "BRYANT." All lettering and numbering is done in purple on white tackle twill. The numeric font differs slightly from what the Lakers wore on the court. Kobe Bryant signed the back of the jersey inside the number “8” in silver marker and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and the Lakers authenticating the autograph.
