Boasting a reputation and one of baseball's best closers, Dennis Eckersley also showed flashes of brilliance as a starting pitcher. Eckersley became the first of two pitchers in MLB history to have both a 20-win season and a 50-save season in a career. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004 on the first ballot and is a member of the MLB All-Time Team. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag size “44” with washing instructions. Attached are two flag tags reading “100% POLYESTER” and “1” EXTRA LENGTH”. On the left sleeve is the A’s “Elephant” team logo patch and on the right sleeve is the “125h Anniversary” patch with a “Rawlings” logo embroidered below. Across the chest reads “Athletics” in script style writing. Adjacent below and on the back is the player number “43”.Across the back on a white nameplate is the player name “ECKERSLEY”. All numbering and lettering is done in green on yellow tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
