Pete Rose, quite simply, defines baseball. Rose remains one of the finest ball players who has not yet been given the place in Cooperstown he so rightly deserves. His record 4,256 base hits combined with his .303 lifetime batting average are a testament to his dedication and commitment to the game. 1968 was a phenomonal season for Rose as he added 210 hits to his career total and batted an incredible .335. In the neck of the jersey is a gray felt patch with the name "Rose" in red chain stitch. Rose has signed the jersey below this in blue ink and his signature rates an 8. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label which includes the size "44" and below this is the "Wilson" label reading "1968 Set 2." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Cincinnati" in red on white tackle twill and on the back is the name "Rose" in red tackle twill. The player number "14" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the shirt. The numbers are also made of red tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Ex-Halper.
