These baseballs were used during Cal Ripken Jr.’s record breaking 2,131 consecutive game played, breaking the previous record held by Lou Gehrig. The new “Iron Man” fittingly crushed a home run to left field in the 4th inning sending the Baltimore crowd into a frenzy. Rawlings manufactured OAL Budig baseballs. Ripken’s name, number and “2130 2131” logo is stamped on the south panel to commemorate the historic game. Ripken signed below this stamp on five of the six baseballs and on the north panel of the other in blue ink and in our opinion the signatures rates a combined 8. All four umpires from that specific game also signed 4 of the baseballs on the east and west panels. One of the baseballs is only signed by Ripken Jr. below the stamp and the last baseball has additional signatures and handwritten reads “2131 Game Ball 9/6/95”. The baseballs show great game use with even toning and scuff marks. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA, a PSA/DNA LOA and multiple LOAs from the umpires Al Clark and Dan Morrison.
