Both of these banks stand approximately 7” tall. One depicts a black man with highly-characterized features, painted red shirt and dark bow, hinged right arms with extended curled fingers designed to hold a coin, movable brown eyes, and movable tongue. When the lever is released, he flips the coin into his mouth, his tongue moves, and his eyes roll up and down. On the back reads "JOLLY N*****BANK" arched. The other depicts a black woman with sculpted curly hair, earrings and necklace and short sleeve painted orange dress. Her eyes have been lost over time. When coin lever is pulled, she lifts her right arm and "swallows" the coin. Across the back reads “DINAH”. Both banks display areas of paint loss and obvious signs of aging.
