"Mt. Morris," as he was called because of his volcanic explosions on the field and in the clubhouse, compiled a 16-11 record with 13 complete games and a 3.33 ERA in ‘85. Using an unhittable split-fingered fastball, he was the winningest pitcher of the ‘80s, leading the Tigers in wins for 8 straight seasons. His 1984 no-hitter at Chicago matched the earliest, by date (April 7) in big league history. Morris had two complete-game World Series wins with the Twins in ‘91 and was the Series MVP. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label with the size "44" and below is a patch with "85 1" done in blue chain stitch. The numbers denote the year and set number respectively, Below this is a patch with the number "55" also done in blue chain stitch. This is a wash code. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Detroit" in blue on orange tackle twill and on the back is the name "Morris" in blue tackle twill. Below this is the player number "47" done in blue on orange tackle twill. Below this is the player number "47" done in blue on orange tackle twill. The name and number on the back have been restored. The jersey shows game-use and with the exception of the restored back, appears to have no other alterations of any kind.
