Mike Torrez like Ralph Branca was a very effective pitcher through out his career, but he is remembered for one pitch he threw to Bucky Dent in the final game of the 1978 playoff. Dent hit a home run and the Yankees went to the World Series and the "Curse" continued. This 1978 Boston Red Sox home knit jersey has in the neck the "McAuliffe" label and below is the size tag "50". On the front tail is the year tag "1978" and adjacent is the wash tag. Across the front of the shirt is the name "Red Sox" and on the back is the player number "21". The name and number are made of red on blue tackle twill. On the left front is an autograph reading "Best Wishes Mike Torrez" and on the front right is an autograph reading "Best Wishes Bucky Dent". The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
