Elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in 1987 Jim "Catfish" Hunter made his mark as one of the greatest pitchers to play the game. A big game pitcher Hunter was known as a control pitcher with an incredible fastball. In 1968, he was presented the Cy Young Award, and he had pitched four consecutive seasons with twenty wins. This jersey was manufactured by "Tim McAuliffe Inc.", and has their original tag sewn on the tail. Below this tag are both the "68" year tag and "44" size tag. All of the tags are original and authentic. Across the front of the jersey is the very rare script style "Oakland" logo used only during the 1968 season. The letters are in the traditional colors of green on gold, bordered again in green. On the back of the jersey is Hunter's number "27" using the same coloring of the lettering on the front. Hunter has signed the shirt on the right front breast and his signature rates an 8. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
