A decade before the third baseman came to the New York Mets as a free agent in 1999, Ventura broke in with the White Sox. Ventura broke out in ‘91, hitting .284 and winning the first of five Gold Gloves. He played 10 seasons with Chicago, where he was an All-Star and twice hit over 30 home runs. His first season as a Met, he had a career-high 120 RBIs and took home another Gold Glove. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Rawlings" label with the size "42" and adjacent is the flag reading "Set 1 1989." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Chicago" in script style letters and on the back is the player number "21." The letters and numbers are made of blue on red tackle twill. There is an autograph on the upper left front of the jersey. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
