In 1970, Bobby Valentine was the named PCL Player of the Year when he hit .340 with 122 runs scored, 211 hits and 16 triples. His promising career in baseball was somewhat derailed by a series of injuries. In 1985, He became manager of the Texas Rangers and a year later was named AL Manager of the Year (UPI). Guiding the New York Mets to consecutive playoff appearances, including the World Series, Valentine continues to improve on that promising career. This Texas Rangers home manager's jersey was worn by Bobby Valentine during the 1989 season. On the left front tail is the "Rawlings" label with the size "42" and adjacent is the flag tag reading "Set 1 1989". Across the front of the jersey, is the name "Rangers" in script style letters made of blue on red tackle twill and on the back is the name "Valentine" in blue tackle twill. The player number "2" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the jersey. The numbers are made of blue on red tackle twill. The jersey appears to have no alterations of any kind.
