The Major League Baseball All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award is an annual award given to the most outstanding player in each year's MLB All-Star Game. Awarded each season since 1962, it was originally called the "Arch Ward Memorial Award" in honor of Arch Ward, the man who conceived the All-Star Game. Willie McCovey took home the award in 1969 hitting two home runs in the game and driving in three runs. This large award features a trophy on the top and two figures beneath. Engraved on a large plate reads “ARCH WARD MEMORIAL AWARD”. Engraved beneath this on another plate reads “PRESENTED TO WILLIE McCOVEY BY THE RAWLINGS SPORTING GOODS COMPANY FOR HIS OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN THE 1969 ALL-STAR GAME. WASHINGTON D.C.” There are very minimal condition issues with some wood loss and expected aging, but the award displays beautifully.
