Rod Carew is one of the finest hitters for average of all time. He hit .300 or better for 15 consecutive seasons which puts him in a select class with only five other hitters: Cobb, Anson, Wagner, Musial, and Williams. On the left front tail is the year tag "82" done in black chain stitch and next to this is the "Wilson" label with the size "42". Across the front of the jersey is the name "Angels" and on the back is the name "Carew". The player number "29" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the shirt. All the letters and numbers are made of red on blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the California State patch and on the right front is an autograph in black marker that rates an 8. Included with the uniform are pants from the 1979 season. In the waistband is a white patch with "29 79 261/2" done in blue chain stitch. The numbers denote the player number, year, and inseam respectively. Next to this is the "Wilson" label with the size "33" done in blue chain stitch. The jersey and pants show good game use and appear to have no alterations of any kind.
