When he retired in 1990 at age 43, Bob Boone's 2,264 games caught stood as a major league record until it was equaled by Carlton Fisk three years later. The son of former Tigers third baseman Ray Boone, and the father of current big leaguers Aaron and Bret Boone, hit .248 in 150 games for the Angels in ‘85. Boone also played for the Phillies and Royals, winning Gold Gloves in 1978-79, ‘82, ‘86-89, and later managed the Phillies, Angels, Royals and Reds. On the left front tail is the "Goodman" label with the size "45." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Angels" and on the back is the name "Boone." The player number "8" appears on both the left front and on the back of the shirt. The letters and numbers are made of red on blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the Angels patch and on the right sleeve is the Angels 25th anniversary patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
