Phil Niekro was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997. Niekro's 318 career victories are the most by a knuckleball pitcher, and he ranks 16th on the overall all-time wins list. In the rear neck area is the Wilson manufacturers tag size “44” with washing instructions. On the front left tail is a box tag reading the year “79” embroidered in blue. Across the chest reads “Braves” in script style writing. Adjacent below and on the back is the player number “35”. All numbering and lettering is done in blue on white on red tackle twill. Niekro signed the front of the jersey in blue marker with the added inscription “H.O.F. - 97” and in our opinion the signature rates a strong 8. On the right inside waistband of the pants is the Wilson manufacturers tag size “36” with washing instructions. Adjacent is a strip tag reading “25 79 2 35”. Niekro signed the left thigh of the pants with the same added inscription as the jersey and in our opinion the signature also rates a strong 8. This uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a Full LOA from JSA and a Photo-Match.com LOA grading the jersey a perfect 10.
