The son of a shoe salesman, Alex Rodriguez seemed destined to win Gold Gloves at shortstop, hit 40 homers in back to back seasons, and make tons of money. That was evidenced by the hordes of scouts, and agents, who descended on Miami's Westminster Christian High School in the early 1990s vying to get his signature on a contract. The young A-Rod hit .419 over three seasons, led the school to a national HS title as a junior, and as a senior in 1993 hit .505 and earned first-team prep school All-American honors. This gleaming white, black and blue cap worn by Rodriguez back then is encased and recessed in the upper part of a 20" x 33 ½" black wood-paneled cabinet. Rodriguez signed the right side of the cap "Alex Rodriguez (game-used)" in black marker, with the signature rating a near-perfect 10. The cabinet also features a 15 ½" x 19" color photograph of Rodriguez in a Seattle Mariners uniform swinging a bat, boasting another A-Rod signature in black marker and also grading near a 10.
