First-ballot Hall of Famer George Brett is one of four players in MLB history to have 3,000 hits, 300 home runs, and have a career .300 average. In the rear sweatband is the New Era manufacturers tag. Adjacent are two tags, one reading what appears to be the size “7 1-4” and one reading “OFFICIAL LICENSE MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL”. The player number and initials “GB 5” are handwritten under the bill in period faded black marker. The front of the cap shows the Royals “KC” logo. Brett signed under the bill of the cap in blue marker and in our opinion the signature rates a 7.5. There is sweat staining readily apparent and dirty staining inside the cap. This cap is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used with attribution to George Brett and in our opinion shows use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
