Turk Wendell pitched a scoreless inning in the Mets 13-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Turk came in to start the ninth against the Diamondbacks. He ran the count full and walked Damian Miller to lead off the ninth. Turk then got Danny Bautista on a swinging third strike and David Dellucci grounded into a fielder's choice retiring Miller at second base. Wendell retired Tony Womack to end the game. Turk threw 11 strikes and 4 balls in one inning of relief. At this point the Mets had won six of seven meetings from the Diamondbacks and extended their lead to 5 ½ games in the race for the NL Wild Card.
