Derek Bell walked with the bases loaded in the Mets 8-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Derek singled to right with one out in the third off Brewers starter Paul Rigdon. Bell went to second on a walk to Edgardo Alfonzo and advanced to third on a walk to Mike Piazza to load the bases. All were stranded as Matt Franco grounded out to end the inning. Derek singled to shallow center in the fifth off Rigdon but was stranded again as Alfonzo struck out. The Mets retained their lead on the Diamondbacks in the race for the NL wild card.
