Steve Parris made his 33rd start of the year in the Reds 6-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, the Reds last game of the 2000 season. Parris set career highs in many categories including games started, wins, innings and strikeouts. Steve became the first Reds hurler in eleven years to win seven consecutive games. The Reds joined the ‘32 Yankees as the only teams in Major League history to go an entire season without being shutout. Cincinnati played 163 games in 2000 due to a five-inning tie on opening day with the Brewers.
