Ty Cobb will forever be known not only as one of the greatest to ever play baseball, but as one of the most fierce competitors the sport has ever seen. Cobb was a threat on both offense and defense with his lifetime batting average of .367 and career total of 892 stolen bases. During his 24 year career Cobb was awarded 12 batting titles with his best season being 1911 when hit an astounding .420. This biography, entitled "Ty Cobb: The Idol of Baseball Fandom", was written by Sverre O. Braathen. The book has been signed on the second page "Ty Cobb" in black fountain pen and the signature rates a near 10. Printed in the book, above the signature, is "This Autographed Copy is Number 11" meaning that this book was a specially printed limited edition copy. Throughout the book are pictures of Cobb printed on photographic paper featuring him throughout his career, with his family, and several other situations. This first edition, published in 1928, is in excellent to near mint condition showing relatively little wear considering it's age.
