A three-time NFL champion, Bobby Layne was voted First-Team All-Pro three times, led the NFL in passing yards twice, led the NFL in passing touchdowns once and was named to the NFL 1950s All-Decade Team. Layne has his No. 22 retired by the Detroit Lions franchise and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967. On the inside crotch piece is the Rawlings manufacturers tag size “50”. Adjacent below is the Lippman’s distributors tag and a tag with washing instructions. The player number “22” appears on the front, back and on both sleeves in silver tackle twill sewn directly onto the blue jersey. There is a team instituted number replacement on the first “2” of each identifier. This was a common practice for the Lions as evident in the team photo with Joe Schmidt who can easily be seen wearing a jersey with a distinct number change. The identifiers show nice even wear throughout This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a LOA from Photo-Match.com grading the jersey an 8.
