Mel Ott, the first NL player to hit 500 home runs, finished his Hall of Fame career in 1947 with a total of 517. One of those shots had just left the ballpark when this black and white photograph was snapped of Ott crossing the plate and being glad-handed by New York Giant teammate Dick Bartell. Both Ott and Bartell signed the picture, Ott in blue pen against the gray area of the dirt around home plate. The signature rates a 7. Bartell wrote his name in dark blue marker on the white of his uniform. It rates a solid 8. The photo is 6" x 7" and has been bordered by a pink strip against the black interior of the 13" x14" frame which is in good condition and is ready for hanging.
