Mark McGwire followed up his record-shattering 70-home run season by reaching several monster milestones in ‘99, including getting to 500 career homers faster than anyone else and becoming the first man to hit 50 or more homers in four straight seasons, as well as the oldest to hit 50 when he blasted a big league-best 65. Big Mac was well on his way when on May 30 he cracked No.15 against righthander Felix Heredia in a 7-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs, and the lineup
card filed out and signed by Cardinal manager Tony LaRussa that day became an immediate keeper when McGwire signed the card under his name in the usual No. 3 slot in the Cardinal batting order. As valuable as the card is for McGwire's near-perfect-10 signature, an added kick is that his opposite number on the card is Sammy Sosa, his friendly rival who with McGwire has cleared 60 homers twice. Comes with a letter of authenticity from LaRussa.
