Babe Ruth is not only the greatest baseball player who ever lived, but due to his personality and his flamboyant behavior, he is one of the most recognizable names in American history. The N.Y. Yankees ruled the baseball world in the mid-to-late1920s, with the "Sultan of Swat" leading the way. This photo was taken in January of 1927, a few months before one of the most memorable seasons in baseball history. The 1927 Yankees showcased "Murderer's Row". This dangerous line-up helped the Yankees win the AL pennant by 19 games and sweep the Pirates in the World Series. The photo, taken from a Christy Walsh syndication, shows Ruth sparring with Dick Hopper and has been signed in black fountain pen by Ruth and reads "To Dick Hopper From Babe Ruth". The signature rates a 7. The photo itself is in excellent condition with some minor creasing through-out the photo.
