This gorgeous impressionistic photograph was a fitting tribute to Mickey Mantle at a time when he was, as it says under the photo on this 26" x 36" hard cardboard matting, "The ‘Mighty Mick' of ‘56." It was that year that Mantle won the Triple Crown, notching 52 home runs, 132 RBIs and a .353 average, and his blonde good looks and country-boy personality made him such a popular figure that his image was seen everywhere from Brylcreem commercials to chic art galleries. This compelling portrait was the work of photographer Raymond Gallo. It depicts the Mick smiling while relaxing in the dugout in his road New York Yankee uniform. Mantle signed the photo in gray marker on the lower left with his name and "T.C. (Triple Crown)1956." The signature rates a near-perfect 10. The black-bordered photo and matting are in excellent condition with very few flaws around the edges and virtually none on the facing
