This clever and knowing masterpiece by folk artist Steve Sax shows the majesty and arrogance of a typical Reggie Jackson home run in a way no photograph or moving picture can. Sax has caricatured all the elements of a Yankee-pinstriped Reggie sending a moon shot on its way. Reggie is lingering at the plate admiring the ball rise on its arc, lowering his bat slowly to the ground. Sax's trademark 3-D effect includes using plaster or clay to fashion Reggie's white batting glove, the blue bill of his New York Yankee helmet, a real pair of designer sunglasses, the catcher's blue shin guard, even Reggie's nose. Best of all, there's an actual Louisville Slugger bat in his hand! The delightful painting measures 64" from the top of Reggie's helmet to the bottom of his shoes and 36" from bat to catcher's shin guard. Our guarantee: looking at this painting will make you hunger for a Reggie Bar.
