In the 1950s, the Brooklyn Dodgers were the best team in the National League. But it wasn't until 1955 that the "Bums" of Ebbets Field finally beat their cross-town rivals, the New York Yankees, in the World Series. This painting by artist Cliff Spohn commemorates those great Brooklyn teams. Towards the bottom half of the piece is a montage of Dodger stars shown in various poses including Pee Wee Reese, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Don Drysdale, Sandy Koufax, and Jackie Robinson. At the top of the artwork is a depiction of the front facade of Ebbets Field. This photographic quality painting has an excellent blend of pencil and paint, creating a three-dimensional impression. This 22 x 32 inch framed artwork is a wonderful piece for any fan who bleeds Brooklyn blue.
