Baseball historians will look back at the Seattle Mariners of the 1990s as the Major League birthplace of two of the greatest stars to have ever played the game, Alex Rodriguez and Ken Griffey Jr. As a Seattle Mariner for 20 seasons, "Junior" accumulated 350 Hrs and 1,018 RBIs while batting an even .300. The last three seasons with the "M's," he averaged 54 Hrs and 144 RBIs per campaign, an incredible stat for an incredible hitter. His accomplishments in Seattle will perhaps be looked upon as his greatest years making this work by Tinkelman all the more poignant. To begin with, the framing and matting of this16.5" x 19" piece in Mariners' blue and gold is ultra dramatic. The pen and ink drawing captures the youthful Griffey in a left-handed batting pose with incredible skill. The artwork is autographed by Griffey in blue Sharpie, a blazing "10." It is also signed by the artist in pencil.
